Bacterial breakdown of maize trash
Tuesday, October 4, 2011
A phone call this morning from the makers of BactoFil CELL® proved interesting enough for me to say I would make members aware of what is being claimed. The makers claim that their product is a “cellulose decomposing microbiological preparation that significantly accelerates the natural decomposition of maize stalks” if true the benefits for grain maize farmers keen to speed up breakdown of maize straw and farmers in areas where fungal diseases are an issue, to reduce the over winter carryover of trash are obvious. To back up the their claims the makers are keen to set up a demonstration of what can be achieved and have therefore asked that if any member is interested in trialling the product, they should contact the company direct for more information. Attila Varro is the man to contact via email. inter-inter@t-online.hu
